As we ready Trendrr version three for launch this summer I realized how we would have never been able to get to the evolved product we are releasing without the iterative development process.
Client feedback, evaluation, testing and the continued analysis and design all have made our product better and smarter.
With the flood of related services hitting the market an educated client will know the difference in product performance, user experience and unique product and marketplace decisions. These all come from this iterative process.
Trendrr would never be able to process the information around large-scale events without stopping learning and making changes. One does not just jump in and start swimming in the fire hose. We are now processing past 100,000 tweets a second. Not just calculating volume but more complex demographic, location, sentiment, and other valuable information without iterating this would be impossible.
You try it against things like the Superbowl, Academy Awards, Haiti benefit airings, The World Cup. After each event you learn something new about processing the information, make changes continue to improve.
Same for sentiment and other natural language processing, these things take training and training takes time
I quote Ferris Bueller here.
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while…..”
These pauses, calibrations and ensuing reigniting of the product has allowed us to develop an offering that scales while delivering the most valuable structure and processing of information I have seen.
By nature I want things done and out, lets move, move, move! – sharks die when they sleep mentality. I have learned that in product development it is always best to take the iterative and incremental production approach.
Trendrr V3 is excellent because we have been iterating the offering for four years, our customers will be the benefit of that.
