Wiredset To Provide Mobile Services For SXSW

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 -- Wiredset announced Thursday it will be the technology provider for SMS messaging, text alerts, vote campaigns, band listings and updates for this year's SXSW Music, Interactive and Film festivals and conferences.

Attendees will be able to subscribe to a mobile alert list or request specific information about the SXSW festivals, scheduled for March 10-19, 2006, in Austin, Texas, using Wiredset's STARtxt mobile platform. Attendees can sign up for the text alerts on the SXSW Web site.

Performance schedules for the SXSW Music Conference will be available to cellphone users beginning February 15. Mobile services will also be offered at the SXSW Film Festival, where attendees can vote on their favorite film to receive the SXSW Film Festival Audience Award.

"SXSW will be the first professional music industry event to offer a complete interactive mobile service where attendees get instant information including band schedules, club info, and even taxi cab numbers, through SMS text messaging," said Bill Craig, Wiredset vice president for sales.
